How Things Work!* NEW
Grades 1–5
Science and engineering combine in this visit as children experiment with the concepts behind “how things work.” Students explore simple machines and investigate the world around them as they discover the answers to questions using hands-on experiences.

Mapping Your World*
Grades 2–4
Children dig deep to take a closer look at the science of cartography (map-making). Students will explore geography in two hands-on exhibits and learn the tricks of the mapping trade, including cardinal direction points and graphing. Using this information, students will create a treasure map in our interactive workshop.

Monkey King: A Story from China
(September 25, 2009– January 3, 2010)
Visitors will have the chance to join the mischievous and brave Monkey King on his magical journey to a far-away land. In this exhibit, based on the Chinese classic, A Journey to the West, children and adults will discover fascinating details about China’s rich culture.
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (January 29–May 3, 2010)
Follow the yellow brick road to LICM and experience science, art and history through the magic of Oz. Based on the story by L. Frank Baum, this fun exhibit encourages literacy and inspires a love of storytelling in children.
